I held 5 internships & 5 part time jobs in college, everything from a campus tour guide, to a PR intern in Chicago, to a digital intern in London.
At the beginning of the summer, the creative interns at Barkley US were given a challenge: do something–anything–with kcLoves, the agency's dormant side project that celebrates creativity in Kansas City.
Over the next few weeks, we planned an activation at KC’s August First Friday night, complete with a chalkboard light up sign that prompted locals to share what they love about their city and continue to post about KC on social media with the hashtag #kcLoves.
We covered downtown in fliers, gave out stickers and prompted a social media movement to spread the love in KC. Our team of five interns gave the agency a direction for the project, which is still active over a year later.
At Barkley in the summer of 2016, my team worked to create a social strategy for TAKE5, a recently rebranded Hershey candy bar. Working with art directors and designers, I co-wrote the copy for 3 months of Instagram and Tumblr posts. The full strategy & copy can be found here.
In Spring 2017 I worked on a successful campaign to promote a proposed student fee to the University of Missouri student body. We named the campaign "Enhance Mizzou", and because the fee would give money to many different areas of campus, I designed the logo in a mosaic pattern to symbolize the different parts of campus represented in one fee. Through Twitter and Facebook campaigns we garnered thousands of impressions in 6 weeks to eventually break the school record for voter turnout and successfully pass the fee.
In 2017 I branded International Empowerment Project, a nonprofit that delivers aid to orphanages in Juarez, Mexico. The project included logo, brand colors, brochure and magazine.
Throughout my many advertising classes in college, I designed and wrote ads to captivate consumers through eye-catching art and creative copywriting. These are a few of my favorites from throughout the years.
My semester abroad spurred my love for photography, and I'm always antsy for a creative side project. At the end of my senior year, I started a freelance photography business taking graduation photos for seniors at Mizzou.
Over the last four years I have...
- Worked in 4 traditional agency environments
- Gained international agency experience handling celebrity clients
- Learned the differences in handling small and national client needs
- Strategized to create successful brand activations
- Honed my writing skills for different brand voices and media platforms
Now, I'm ready to take what I've learned and apply it in Chicago's bustling PR scene with Skirt PR. Let's talk.
