My first digital camera used a floppy disk to hold 22 photos at a time, and I fell in love with photographing my cats and fourth grade classmates. My cats have gotten older, my gear has gotten better, but the love is still the same.
At the beginning of the summer, the creative interns were given a challenge: do something–anything–with kcLoves, Barkley’s side project that celebrates creativity in Kansas City.
Over the next few weeks, we planned an activation at KC’s August First Friday night, complete with a light up sign that prompted locals to share what they love about their city.
We covered downtown in fliers, gave out stickers and prompted a social media movement to spread the love in KC.

During the summer of 2016, I worked as a copywriting intern at Barkley, a wildly creative agency in Kansas City, MO. Our motley crew of 24 interns developed Millennial-targeted campaigns for Spirit Airlines & Applebee’s, and a fierce appreciation for all the free beer and ice cream Barkley had to offer.
